Wedding at NYIT De Seversky Mansion - Documentary Style Long Island Wedding Photographer
As a Long Island Wedding Photographer, I absolutely love to capture weddings at historic venues and estates. It was such an honor to capture Stephanie & Patrick’s timeless wedding ceremony at St Ignatius Martyr Church in Long Beach, NY & reception at NYIT de Seversky Mansion in Brookville, NY. Every detail that Stephanie and her planning team, Eventful Days, thoughtfully put together, was beautifully executed. Doris the Florist provided stunning florals that set the stage for the reception. PR Creations & Makeup by Vic both did an incredible job to provide hair & makeup that made Stephanie and her girls all look and feel so radiant. Contented Long Island captured so much incredible BTS iPhone footage to help Stephanie & Patrick remember their special day! Batter Up Bakery provided the stunning heart shaped vintage cake, and Silver Arrow Band ensured an epic reception with guests on the dance floor all evening.

The DuPont Guest Estate boasts a rich history intertwined with American aristocracy and innovation. Originally built in 1918 for the prominent Seversky family, the estate reflects a blend of architectural styles and luxurious details characteristic of the era. In the late 1950s, the mansion was acquired by the DuPont family, known for their contributions to industry and science. The estate served as a guesthouse for dignitaries and influential figures, embodying the grandeur of its time. Today, the De Seversky Mansion stands as a historic venue, offering a glimpse into the opulence of early 20th-century life while serving as a unique space for events and gatherings. The meticulously maintained grounds and elegant interiors continue to tell the story of its rich history.

Gold Coast mansions on Long Island embody a rich history of opulence and grandeur. These sprawling estates, once home to the elite of the early 20th century, are set against a backdrop of lush gardens and picturesque coastal views. The architectural styles range from Georgian revival to Mediterranean, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail. Walk down manicured pathways and admire the breathtaking landscapes that surround these iconic residences. Today, many of these mansions serve as cultural landmarks, offering insight into a bygone era of luxury living, while some have been repurposed as museums, event spaces, or private venues, keeping the legacy of the Gold Coast alive.
For this stunning wedding day, I also shot a roll of film, which was so fun amongst the colors and textures of the mansion!
Film photography on your wedding day captures genuine moments with a timeless feel that digital often can't match. The rich textures and true colors of film create warm images that evoke emotions long after the day is over. Each shot tells your story with a nostalgic touch. The slower pace of film photography encourages you to truly appreciate life’s fleeting moments.
The Dupont Guest Estate at NYIT De Seversky Mansion offers a range of elegantly appointed rooms that blend historic charm with modern luxury. Each space reflects a unique ambiance. The Grand Ballroom a dark academia aesthetic, perfect for epic party photos. The Pink Library, with its bright pink walls and elegant chandeliers, provides an intimate setting for your cocktail hour. For your seated dinner, the Sunroom is bathed in natural light and surrounded by lush gardens and a water fountain, creating a serene atmosphere.
As a Long Island wedding photographer, cocktail hour is definitely one of my FAVORITE parts of the day! Candid photos during cocktail hour capture the celebration and connection between your loved ones. This time allows for natural moments, filled with laughter, conversations, and joy.
I absolutely love to capture wedding receptions with a variety of direct & diffused flash, and ambient light! I love the way each different lighting scenario embodies a different emotion. It helps to create a gallery that is both visually pleasing & interesting and evokes the emotions and memories of the day when looked back on years down the line.
As a Long Island documentary style wedding photographer, motion blur serves as a powerful storytelling tool. It captures the intricate emotions of the day—the laughter of guests, the fleeting glance between partners, and the joyful chaos of celebration. By allowing movement to streak across the frame, these images evoke emotions and energy that static shots cannot convey. Motion blur transforms ordinary moments into dynamic narratives, showcasing not just what happened, but how it felt. It emphasizes connection, excitement, and the vibrant atmosphere, creating a visual experience that resonates long after the day has ended. Through this technique, each photograph becomes a living memory, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the story of love and celebration.
