Wedding at Soundview︱The Halyard in Greenport, New York - Long Island Wedding Photographer

As a Long Island Wedding Photographer, The Halyard is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite wedding venues! I’ve had the honor of capturing multiple weddings there and it is always an amazing time. The restaurant is decorated with a modern yet vintage charm, the staff is amazing, and the food is 10/10.

Located in Greenport, New York - the Halyard offers a breathtaking waterfront dining experience, seamlessly blending modern cuisine with the charm of a historic maritime village. This inviting restaurant showcases locally sourced ingredients, highlighting the region's seafood and seasonal produce. With its elegant atmosphere and stunning views of the harbor, The Halyard is an ideal spot for both intimate gatherings and larger special occasions, allowing guests to savor exquisite dishes while enjoying the serene backdrop of Greenport’s coastal beauty.

Greenport is a charming village located on the North Fork of Long Island. Originally established in the 17th century, it began as a maritime center for whaling and shipbuilding, quickly evolving into a hub for trade and commerce due to its strategic location along the Peconic Bay. The village's historical significance is evident in its well-preserved architecture, including many buildings from the 19th century. The Halyard blends in seamlessly with Greenport’s maritime heritage and is such a popular spot for Long Islander staycations, making it the perfect place for your wedding weekend!

There are so many incredible locations to capture portraits at the Halyard. One thing I loved about Danielle & Nick is their emphasis on a relaxed, fun day, which made posing so easy and comfortable for them.

As a documentary style Long Island photographer, I love to capture candid images throughout the day. Especially during the reception! Documentary style wedding photography focuses on capturing genuine, candid moments as they unfold. This approach immerses you in the narrative of your wedding, documenting the emotions, interactions, and nuances that make your celebration unique. Rather than staged poses, documentary photography emphasizes authenticity, allowing the true essence of your love story to shine through. With an unobtrusive technique, I capture the day with images that reflect the joy, laughter, and even quiet moments, creating a timeless collection that you’ll treasure for years to come.

Greenport is such a beautiful destination for your Long Island Wedding. It is celebrated for its picturesque waterfront, vibrant arts scene, and agricultural roots, particularly its vineyards and farms that thrive in the fertile soil of the region. The quaint streets are lined with boutique shops, galleries, and restaurants, attracting both locals and tourists. The community values its maritime history while embracing a modern, eco-conscious lifestyle. Whether exploring the local beaches, indulging in fresh seafood, or strolling through the farmers' market, visitors experience the true essence of a Long Island coastal village.
